Tony Orlando & Shawn Rae. Tony writes:

"You look like my brother, and you are from now on. Please read for the Tony Orlando Story, a film for T.V. – I'll let you know when they will be casting – you sure look like the Tony I was." -- Tony Orlando

Tony Orlando’s brother came up to Shawn Rae a few years ago and told him that Tony would like to invite him to see him. Shawn met Tony and his entire family at his concert. Tony and his family were extremely gracious and wonderful, a lot of photographs were taken and Shawn was made to feel like he was a long lost member of his loving American family. It was a moving experience for Shawn having been born and raised till he was eighteen in the Far East, because since the day he was invited to come to the United States by the U.S. State Department, from Asia as an exchange student, he has had people smile and call him Tony.

Over the past seven years since Shawn & Tony met, every time Shawn performs invariably people in the audience smile at him and he hears the name Tony. Tony’s fans, most of America loves him, are always asking him to sing Tony’s songs. Shawn had finally this year to appease Tony’s fans, 7 years after meeting Tony, put a few of Tony’s songs into a medley. The response has been so phenomenal that the audiences have clamored for full songs instead of just one medley.

Shawn has finally put together, besides The Shawn Rae Love Show, a Tony Orlando Tribute Show, due to the incessant requests of Tony Orlando’s legions of fans, which include people from all walks of life, from all over the United States, from across all ethnic lines, and includes Veterans from every War and Branch of the Military. But most importantly, because of Tony Orlando’s big heartedness and open arms and in Tony’s own words, “You look like my brother, and you are from now on”. To someone born in the Mystic East who is now “A thankful immigrant”, such words of love, brotherhood & family from an authentically American icon are truly “Kismet”.
